Telesales Administrator – Fixed Term Contract

The Organisation

Nikwax, a leading international manufacturer of waterproofing products for clothing, footwear and outdoor equipment, requires a Telesales Administrator to join our busy Telesales team on a fixed term basis to provide maternity cover.

The Role

As the Telesales Administrator you will promote Nikwax products to our customers by both phone and email. You will be expected to provide a high level of service and support to our customers, liaising with internal teams as appropriate. You will also work closely with our Sales Representatives to provide support for specific events and customers.

In addition, you will maintain records and process orders including undertaking order entry and confirmation, raising invoices and co-ordinating any outstanding orders. You will be expected to follow company procedures and processes at all times.

The Person

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills both verbal and written with a logical approach and able to remain calm in difficult situations.

As this is a busy role you will need to have a meticulous eye for detail and be highly organised. You will be self-confident with good people skills, and able to drive things through to a conclusion.

You should have proven experience in telesales and general office administration. It would be beneficial to have a basic understanding of office accounting programmes. You are likely to be educated to A level or equivalent standard.

Ideally you will work full time but we will consider applications for part-time hours from candidates with suitable experience. The role will initially be offered on a fixed term basis until the end of December 2017 although there is the potential for this to be extended.

Assistant Accountant

The Nikwax Group, which includes Nikwax; a leading international manufacturer of waterproofing aftercare for clothing, footwear and outdoor equipment, and Páramo; an award-winning producer of high performance outdoor clothing, requires an Assistant Accountant to join our busy Finance team.

The Role

In this role, you will assist with the preparation of Management Accounts for both Nikwax and Páramo. You will be responsible for asset registers and bank reconciliations. In addition, you will be responsible for external statutory reporting (including VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales and Austrian VAT). You will be expected to prepare and process prepayments, accruals and month-end journals as well as assisting with nominal ledger control accounts reconciliation.

Other key areas of responsibility will include assisting with regular reporting and communication of reports comparing budgeted costs to actual performance; preparations for audit and stock takes and in preparation of cash flow statements, Management Accounts consolidation and ad hoc reporting.

The Person

You will be conscientious and numerate with an eye for detail; organised with good communication skills (both written and verbal). You will have strong problem solving abilities with the ability to be calm under pressure and to work under your own initiative. In addition, you will have strong IT and interpersonal skills as well as being able to work to and understand the importance of deadlines.

The successful candidate will be part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent AAT qualifications. You will have experience in Management Accounting and Reports as well as of working in a Finance team. In addition, you will be proficient in cashbook processing (bank reconciliations and purchase ledger) as well being familiar with using financial accounting software and Excel to produce Management Accounts. You will also be conversant in handling VAT transactions for international trade.

Development Chemist

Nikwax Ltd is a successful privately owned manufacturing company located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the South of England, within one hour of central London.

The business develops, produces and markets specialist waterproof products and processes and sells into the Outdoor Industry world-wide. It has achieved 4 Queen’s Awards for industry, including the QA for Sustainable Development in 2014.

The Role

The role requires you to carry out innovative development work, from creation of new products through to re-formulation of existing products. You will be involved with the products from conception through to manufacture, allowing you to see your work have real impact. You will be involved in creating and sustaining development projects and have key influence when designing and prioritising benefits and features of new or updated products.

You will need to thoroughly understand the manufacturing process engaged in by Nikwax both in terms of mechanism and purpose to enable you to offer technical support to the manufacturing team. You may also provide support to sales and customer services with novel or previously undocumented queries. You must also maintain a good a high standard of good lab practice and ensure accurate recording of reliable data.

The Person

The successful candidate will be systematic and imaginative with an ability to problem solve as well as being a self starter and good communicator with staff at all levels.

You will have a Chemistry degree (or related subject) and industrial laboratory experience.
