Group Health and Safety Advisor

The Organisation

The Role

In this role you will improve the Group’s Health and Safety performance by ensuring compliance with current standards and legislation.

Key responsibilities include undertaking risk assessments along with auditing sites in relation to Health and Safety performance. You will also create and communicate policies and investigate any accidents, reporting on any remedial suggestions, and assist in the design and implementation of Health and Safety training programmes for staff.

The Person

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills both verbal and written with a logical approach and able to remain calm in difficult situations.

You will hold a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent and preferably have experience in working within management standards such as OHSAS 18001. You should be comfortable in undertaking a variety of risk assessments and the preparation of operational procedures. Previous experience in chemical manufacturing environment would be desirable.

Head of Product Management and Operations

Nikwax Ltd is a successful privately owned manufacturing company located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the South of England, within one hour of central London by train.

The business develops, produces and markets specialist waterproof products and processes and sells into the Outdoor Industry world-wide. It has achieved 4 Queen’s Awards for industry, including the QA for Sustainable Development in 2014.

The Role

The role requires the oversight and planning of the production process, the product realisation, international legislative compliance, and adaption of product to multiple language markets.

You will be responsible for improving on the efficiency of the production of Nikwax products; quality of all Nikwax products; and the potential for delivery of new product to new or existing geographical and demographic areas by overseeing, managing, planning and time-keeping the realisation of product, legislative conformity and production.

The Person

The successful candidate will have a passion for leadership and efficiency. You will be competent in the development of sustainable manufacturing and process refinement, will be qualified with an engineering or production degree, and will understand at a personal level the challenges of working in more than one language.

You will have good numerical and written skills and be able to drive things through to a conclusion. You will be analytical and a good problem solver. Fluency in other languages would be an advantage.

Digital Marketing and PR Specialist

Nikwax are at a very exciting stage of growth and looking for an experienced and dynamic Digital Marketing and PR Specialist to help us expand. This is a key position within our marketing team and you will be responsible for the creation and delivery of engaging, digital marketing campaigns, social media development and website content management, as well as PR, throughout the UK and our international markets.

The Role

Working within a marketing team of 15 people and reporting directly to the Marketing Communications Manager, you will set and implement the company’s PR and digital communication strategy.

You’ll be responsible for the generation and implementation of a plan that supports the overarching brand and product campaigns, for all digital and social media channels, and for tracking ROI.

Writing engaging copy for Nikwax’s consumer and trade audiences, you’ll also manage the creation of multimedia content by both internal and external teams for PR, digital and other communication activities. You’ll be scheduling, organising and coordinating the content and overseeing its distribution across multiple channels including email, website and social media, and monitoring and reporting on how well these activities are performing.

Through the planning and active management of content on our websites, you’ll make sure the websites are relevant and current for our key audiences. Your oversight of key words and SEO, will ensure content is driving growth in traffic.

You’ll take ownership of managing and developing our PR relationships with journalists and media within our target regions including UK, Germany, Scandinavia and Benelux, as well as other key partners and our online communities.

The Ideal candidate

With proven success in a digital marketing and PR role this is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter with a passion for digital marketing and the outdoors. You will have:

  • strong copywriting skills
  • extensive experience in use of digital channels for market and communication purposes
  • be a strong communicator with good organisational skills.

The salary for this post will be in the region of £30,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. You must be eligible to work in the UK.
