Matt Callaghan favours road cycling, Jeremy Brown is a dedicated off-roader and Richard Withers does a bit of both though prefers the road. Nikwax also run a Bike to Work scheme so there are a good many more who commute to work by bike too. What kit do Matt, Jeremy and Richard rate?
Matt: runs a BMC RoadRacer with Easton Carbon/Alu finishing kit and Ultegra groupset and a BMC Fourstroke MTB with SRAM/Avid group sets. He likes Assos but dislikes the price. Zipvit are good, Topeak are his favourite accessories and FIZIK are his saddle of choice.
Jeremy: SealSkinz socks and gloves for winter and wet weather singletrack riding – and hosing the mud off the bike. Tech Wash at 30 also gets the mud off after and Glove Proof prevents the outer layer of gloves holding moisture but keeping palm grip.
Richard: loves his Trek Madone 5.2 full carbon road bike. It's a fantastic bike to ride, very quick and responsive. Best recent discovery is Chamois Creme which he's dismissed in the past but after using it for some 60+ mile rides has found it really works. Another must for those cold days are overshoes: use them with Sealskinz waterproof socks and you'll never have cold toes again!
Matt, Jeremy and Richard look after all their bike gear with Nikwax, of course. BaseWash for baselayers, shorts and socks, Tech Wash and TX.Direct to wash and proof waterproof outer layers and Glove Proof to proof... gloves. It keeps their clothing clean and refreshed and keeps them comfortable in all conditions. |
