Join an international outdoor business in a rural environment as a Maintenance Specialist Technician

Nikwax is a leading international manufacturer of waterproofing products for clothing, footwear and outdoor equipment and leads the field in outstanding environmental credentials and sustainability. We are looking for a Maintenance Specialist Technician to join our busy Supply team.

The Role

Ensure Supply machinery and equipment is available, effective and fit for use, by performing routine maintenance and repairing machinery breakdowns by:

  • diagnosing machinery problems and solving them utilising electrical, electronic or pneumatic skill sets
  • performing routine maintenance on all equipment and machinery as scheduled
  • ensuring machinery breakdowns are efficiently and effectively repaired and recorded
  • maintaining a clean and safe workshop, advising appropriate people of unsafe working environments’ or unsafe machinery
  • understanding and being competent with the operation of all Supply equipment
  • reporting on repeating machine breakdowns to Maintenance Manager
  • maintaining a healthy stock of consumables for machinery and also equipment for respective areas
  • proposing and implementing approved solutions to increase capacity and efficiency of all equipment and machinery
  • providing backup to production teams during periods of high demand.

The Person will be

  • experienced working in a production environment
  • experienced in engineering, electronics and pneumatics
  • logical in approach to problems
  • able to drive things through to a conclusion
  • educated to grade C or above in GCSE or equivalent, in English and Mathematics.

The Role

Manage the resources and workload for the Manufacturing Team to ensure continuity of product by planning manufacturing production schedules, achieving balanced workloads and fulfilling deadlines by:

  • managing the resources and workload for the Manufacturing team to ensure continuity of product whilst also ensuring a safe working environment is maintained
  • planning manufacturing production schedules to achieve balanced workloads and meet fulfilment deadlines
  • overseeing and assisting with the daily manufacture of Nikwax products including the setting up and running of the processing equipment
  • overseeing all team processes and ensuring that project plans and procedures are in place to support them
  • ensuring that there is clear and visible organisation across the site by maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
  • recording daily and monthly output
  • ensuring quality of production is meeting required levels set by Quality Control team
  • complying with all supply related identified legalisation and updating teams on any potential known new legislation
  • making recommendations to the management team to increase production rates, reducing costs and delivering on time by elimination non value adding work.

The Person will be

  • a strong self-confident self-starter able to drive things through to a conclusion
  • experienced working in both a manufacturing production environment and quality management
  • ideally experienced in handling chemicals
  • experienced in Management and leading a team
  • educated to an A level standard (or equivalent).

Due to the rural location of this role the successful candidate will need their own transport.

Join an international outdoor business in a rural environment as an Administrative Assistant

Nikwax Outdoor Innovation and Páramo Directional Clothing design and manufacture top quality innovative products for outdoor people and lead the field in outstanding environmental credentials and social responsibility. We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our busy Human Resources Department on a fixed term basis.

The Role

Maintain the HR Team's paper and electronic files in line with GDPR; whilst also assisting with updating HR data and recruitment activities by:

  • managing and operating a schedule for maintaining paper and electronic files in accordance with Company/HR GDPR standards following company procedures
  • assisting in updating HR data including the HR database, salary benchmarking figures and regular reports
  • undertaking collection, recording and monitoring of all Right To Work data in line with legislative requirements (including Home Office RTW data and A1 Posted Worker forms)
  • co-ordinating and undertaking the conversion of paper HR records into electronic format records.
  • assisting the HR team with recruitment activities, including recording applications and arranging interviews.

This role would be ideal for someone looking to move into Human Resources and learn about the work of the department whilst assisting with our administrative work. This is a fixed term role until the end of December 2020.

The Person will be

  • highly organised with good attention to detail
  • able to multi-task and manage own workload effectively
  • motivated with good time management skills
  • a good communicator using both written and verbal skills
  • confident using computers with advanced IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook and preferable with experience of using databases
  • experienced at working in an office with a basic understanding of HR practices and legislation
  • numerate and educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English.

The Role

To improve the number of helpdesk tickets completed and the average rating on helpdesk tickets by efficiently actioning all allocated tasks to create new or update and maintain existing web content, using standard HTML/CSS practices to ensure a fast and smooth user experience by writing well designed, reliable and efficient code by:

  • Actioning all allocated tasks and activities from the Web Services helpdesk, according to agreed priorities and company procedures
  • Creating website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practises and working within visual and brand guidelines to achieve a coherent and consistent look and feel, and user friendly experience
  • Preparing, scheduling and sending email marketing campaigns in HTML according to briefs provided by brand teams, managing special offers, URL redirects, landing pages and other collateral where necessary
  • Assisting in the collection and collation of website statistics using 3rd party webservices such as tag manager, analytics, google console, recaptcha, maps, hotjar and geo locators.

  • Able to explain technical concepts to colleagues in layman’s terms
