Nikwax Ltd. develops care products and material systems that improve performance and extend the life of clothing, footwear and equipment whilst minimising environmental impact with clean chemistry. We develop and manufacture in-house, from our headquarters in Wadhurst, East Sussex. Nikwax are the only outdoor company to have won the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development and all operations have been carbon balanced since the company was founded in 1977. The Role

As a Lab Technician, you'll be right in the middle of the action, helping us create the coolest products out there. Get ready to dive into exciting projects that'll put your skills to the test. Here's what you'll be up to:

Gear up for a whirlwind of responsibilities:

  • Be the authority on testing, running tests and experiments to make sure our products are first-class, and meticulously documenting insights.
  • Take the lead in Páramo fabric and components testing, turning every examination into a triumph that elevates the team.
  • Join the Nikwax innovation team, contributing to the development and seamless implementation of industrial processes.
  • Enforce Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), adhere to COSHH regulations, and craft reports with a compelling narrative.
  • Ensure the laboratory is fully stocked with the essentials for experimentation.
  • Demonstrate your quality control aptitude, conducting routine checks and competitor testing to keep us at the forefront of innovation.
  • Be responsible for plant and lab equipment, coordinating their performance and ensuring they are always in top-notch condition.
  • Stay on top of the latest chemical trends and industry innovations to keep our team ahead of the curve.
  • Create exciting demonstration materials for Marketing and Sales to shine at trade shows.

Due to our rural location near Wadhurst in East Sussex the successful candidate will require their own transport.

We're on the lookout for a standout individual:

  • Dive into tasks with a meticulous and systematic approach, leaving no detail unturned in your work and record-keeping.
  • Ideally, bring your expertise from a lab environment, but if not, we'll show you the ropes!
  • You’ll have to be good at juggling tasks; allowing your organizational skills to turn repetitive tasks into a symphony of efficiency.
  • Be reliable, infusing diligence into every aspect of your work and charming the team with your excellent people skills.
  • Know your way around a computer; with command of standard computer software packages, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Quality Control is not just a phrase for you; ideally, you've already danced with it and know the steps.
  • Let your education shine, holding at least a GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Sciences. Bonus points if have science-related A Levels (or equivalent).
